The Light of Christ Church began as a new church start in 2004 under the leadership of the Anglican Coalition in Canada meeting in homes for worship and fellowship with emphasis on the historical, orthodox biblical faith. Later that same year, the church began meeting in the lower level of the Seventh Day Adventist Church building for Sunday worship. In early 2006, the first Rector was called, The Rev. Kathy J. King. The church feels called to provide a strong, biblical witness of love and service to the city of Nanaimo. Visitors are warmly welcomed into a Spirit filled, family oriented community of worship and faith.

'To shine as a beacon of hope, faithfully radiating the transforming power of Jesus Christ's love to all people, inviting them into safe harbour.'

Mission/Purpose Statement:
'The Light of Christ Church exists to be faithful disciples of Jesus Christ, building God's Kingdom by faithfully worshiping the Lord through Scripture, Sacrament, and Spirit; witnessing to others in the power of God's love; welcoming all into authentic, life-giving community; working to serve others; and walking in an ever deepening relationship with Jesus'.
