What We Believe
Commitment to Jesus Christ
We value and believe that salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone. He is the only begotten Son of the Living God. Through him, all who come to him by faith and repent of their sins receive forgiveness through Christ's death on the cross and live in newness of life through the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. This new life of faith is marked by a joyful obedience to Jesus Christ, to God's Word and to the leading of the Holy Spirit (Mt 16:15-16, Eph 2:4-10, 2 Cor 5:21, Gal 5).
Authority of Scripture
We value and believe in the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament and are committed to them as our final authority. We believe that they are the standard by which we are to order our lives, express our faith, function as a community, and are the catalyst for a life changing relationship with God. (2 Tim 3:16 - 17)
Worship
We value and are committed to glorifying God through Scripture, Sacrament and the Holy Spirit in a blend of worship styles and music that are faithful to Anglican tradition as well as relevant to our cultural setting. We desire that worship delight the heart of God, is spiritually fulfilling and welcoming to those who are not yet accustomed to church (Jn 4:23-24, 1 Cor 11:23-26, Acts 17:22-24, Ps 108:1-5, Eph 5:18-20)
Evangelism
We value and believe that we must strive to live by word and action, lives that express the love and longing heart of God to those who are separated from Jesus Christ and his church. It is our responsibility and joy to share the good news with others. (Great Commission - Mt 28:19-20, Lk 15, I Tim 4:1-5)
Community
We value and believe that building authentic, life giving community is of utmost importance for the heart of the church. We believe that it is best practiced in home groups through our loving relationships that are characterized by accountability and concern for the spiritual, physical, and emotional wellbeing of individuals. (Rom 12:9-21, Acts 2:42-44, Jn 13:34, I Jn 4:11-21)
Servant Ministry
We value and believe that every Christian is created for ministry, gifted for ministry and needed for ministry. Members will find the greatest joy and fulfillment in serving Christ and his church using his or her gifts of the Holy Spirit. We are, therefore, committed to equip, empower and release the faithful to use their spiritual gifts to glorify God and build up the Body of Christ. (Rom.12:1, I Cor 12-14; Eph 4)
Spiritual Growth
We value and believe that all believers must strive to grow in their knowledge and devotion to Christ and commit to a lifestyle of consistent growth through the study of his word, through prayer, worship and accountability to others within the church. Growth requires that we surrender every aspect of our lives under his Lordship. (Phil 3:7-4:1)
Expectant Prayer
We value prayer, and believe that nothing of significance happens in God's Kingdom in the absence of prayer. Therefore, we seek to make prayer a priority, inviting God to lead, restore, heal and transform our lives, our church, our community, and the world. (Jn 14:15-31; Lk 11:1-13).
Sacrificial Giving
We value and believe that we are to be generous with our time, talents and money as we share with those in need, support the work of God among us, and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our giving reflects an understanding that all we have belongs to God; we are only managers of God's resources, not owners (I Jn 3:17-18; Mt 25:14-30).
